Harsh Fines Avoided!

Samuel D, Berns March 11, 2022

Greta was growing some cannabis on her property for personal use, and the county told her to take it down in five days or face stiff fines. She did cut it down, but when she called the county to let them know they didn't pick up. Instead, they tried to fine her $45,000, because they said it was her duty to make sure the county verify that she'd cut down. Sam filed an appeal on the basis that it was the county's duty to prove she hadn't cut down - not the other way around. On the eve of the appeal hearing, the county agreed to dismiss all fines.
